Private by default, honest about the rest
ZCode is a small research assistant for people who'd rather not hand over an identity to ask a question.
Why it exists
Most AI tools start with an account and a card, which ties every question you ask to a name. Shielded Zcash makes it possible to pay without that link. ZCode puts the two together: a balance you top up privately and spend on answers.
The second half is the harder one. Paying privately doesn't help much if the place answering can read everything. So answers now run in hardware-protected enclaves your browser verifies first, and ZCode's server can't read your questions. It's in beta, and the privacy page spells out what that does and doesn't cover.
Principles
01
Say what's true today
Every page and every screen says what's private now and what isn't yet. We'd rather under-claim than mislead.
02
Collect nothing we don't need
No account, no email, no card. A random key in your browser is enough to run a balance.
03
Hold keys on your side
Your backup key never leaves your device, so the backup is useless to anyone who takes it from us.
04
Charge for what's used
Answers reserve a little, charge what they used and release the rest. Failed answers cost nothing.
